Himlung Expedition is one of the growing trips in the Manaslu Ranges of central Nepal. Nepal is a rich country in natural vistas having a lot to offer to all the nature enthusiasts. From Everest to Kanchenjunga and AmaDablam to Himlung expeditions there are hundreds of other phenomenal treks that are yet to be explored and yet to be discovered. Himlung Expedition is one of those unexplored region that offers many attractions from beautiful mountain views to dense forest walks that are widely loved by every visitors. Himlung Expedition is a great opportunity for all the climbers in the world to see something rare, and also experience being in the midst of core nature with wonderful villagers welcoming you throughout the whole journey. The excursion visits some of the most isolated areas of the Manaslu Valley, where you may sample delectable cuisine from the region and take in breathtaking views of the Manaslu and Annapurna Ranges. We arrive at the Himlung Base Camp, from where our climbing begins. By passing through numerous winding, tiny roads, rivers, curves, and little waterfalls we finish this great adventure. When you concentrate solely on ascending and conquering the magnificent Himlung, our knowledgeable guides and porters will be by your side at all times to meet all of your needs. Although Nepal is a land of Himalayas with over 1000 peaks and 8 summits higher than 8000 meters, you will have a lot of new paths open to you when you conquer this extraordinary peak.

Trekkers must be in excellent physical condition before beginning the Himlung Expeditions because the altitude rises to almost 7,000 meters. All travelers are advised to engage in simple to moderate physical activity three to four months prior to the adventure. Climbers with prior peak-climbing experience have a significant advantage. While there will be many challenges along the way, the journey will undoubtedly be worthwhile as you sample the traditional delicacies and drinks from the region and experience the wonderful sense of conquering Himlung.

The trek begins with a short sightseeing of UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu and then a drive to Besisahar. We head to Koto from Besisahar and stay for the night with a belly full of local foods and beverages. We head to Meta the next day, which will be around 5 to 6 hours of walk. After a long and tiring day we stay a warm lodge at Kyang and take a good night’s sleep with an exciting day ahead tomorrow. The following day we continue our journey to Phu. After a long and tough trek we finally get to Himlung Base Camp. For the next 14 days we’ll engage in many training activities and focus on conquering the Himlung Summit. We head to high camp and then onwards to the summit. After we get back to the camp and stay our night. We head back to Phu and back to Koto on foot from where we’ll drive back to Kathmandu, which will mark the end to this exciting Himlung Expeditions.

Day: 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our airport representative and transferred to your 3-star level hotel in a private tourist vehicle. You will spend the night at the hotel and enjoy a dinner.

Day: 02

Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley and Trek preparations

After having morning breakfast we’ll go to have a short sightseeing of major UNESCO listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu. Then we’ll have a short briefing session and you can start preparing for the expedition.

Day: 03

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar(800 m/2,624 ft) 6-7 hours

Today we start early in the morning and head to Besisahar. It is a great place at a low altitude from where you can enjoy the greenery of the remote Nepal. We stay at Besisahar for the night.

Day: 04

Drive from Besi Sahar to Koto(2,675 m/ 8,774 ft) 5-6 hours

After morning breakfast we continue our drive to Koto. You’ll be able to enjoy spectacular views and greenery along the way. We stay in Koto for the night and wait for the exciting day ahead.

Day: 05

Trek to Meta (3,560 m/11,678 ft) 6-7 hours

Today we start our trek from Koto and head to Meta. The trek will be long and at a higher altitude so we will take it slow and steady.

Day: 06

Trek to Kyang (3,740 m /12,267 ft) 6-7 hours

Today after morning breakfast we head to Kyang. Passing many small waterfalls and rivers we reach Kang  and stay for the night.

Day: 07

Trek to Phu (4,250m / 13,944ft) 5-6 hours

After having a delicious morning breakfast we head to Phu, a popular high-altitude destination. The mountain views will be breathtaking as we stay at Phu for the night.

Day: 08

Trek to Himlung Base camp (4900 m/ 16,076 ft) 4-5 hours

Today we head to Himlung Base Camp. For the next few days, we stay at camp and do the necessary training before heading for the summit.

Day: 9-22

Climbing period for Himlung (14 Days)

For the next 14 days, we take some days to acclimatize, train and finally head for the summit. This is the most crucial part of the expedition as we’ll be finally heading for the summit. Our experts will train and guide you throughout the whole way and cater to your needs. You just need to focus on that extra little push to make it to the top and enjoy your journey to the full. Finally, you’ll conquer mount Himlung and head back to the base camp.

Day: 23

Trek back to Phu (4,250m / 13,944ft) 4-5 hours

Today we head back to Phu after conquering mount Himlung. We enjoy the local foods and beverages and stay for the night.

Day: 24

Trek to Meta (3,560 m/11,678 ft) 5-6 hours

Today we head back to Meta in the same way before. But the views will keep entertaining you throughout the whole way.

Day: 25

Trek to Koto (2,675 m/ 8,774 ft) 5-6 hours

After morning breakfast we head back to our first trekking point. Enjoy your walking while it lasts as we’ll be heading back to city life tomorrow.

Day: 26

Drive to Besi Sahar : 4-5 hours

Today our driver will pick us up and then we’ll head back to Besi Shar, the same phenomenal town we started.

Day: 27

Drive to Kathmandu : 6-7 hours

We head back to Kathmandu and you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the night after a long and tiring expedition while you relive the moments in your memories.

Day: 28

Free day in Kathmandu

We keep this day as a free day where you’ll have options to engage on many activities.

Day: 29

Departure day

Today is the final day of your expedition, and we prepare for your departure. We provide transportation to drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport. We exchange final farewells and hope to see each other again in the future. We wish you a pleasant journey and have a safe flight!!
